ACASA · NOUTATI · ROMANIAN ASSOCIATION OF CROS (ACCSCR) ENGAGES IN WEBINAR ON RARE DISEASES AND ACCESS TO CLINICAL TRIALS

Bucharest, Romania – August 3, 2023 – The Romanian Association of Contract Research Organizations (ACCSCR) proudly participated in a thought-provoking webinar titled 'Rare Diseases and Access to Clinical Trials.' The event was held on August 2, 2023, by invitation from the Romanian Prader Willi Association. The ACCSCR's involvement underlines its commitment to advancing clinical research and fostering collaboration within the rare disease community.

The webinar featured three insightful presentations, each shedding light on different aspects of rare diseases and their impact on clinical trials:

"Rare Diseases - Impact of Clinical Studies": This presentation by Dr. George Tanaseanu, President of ACCSCR, explored the pivotal role of clinical studies in understanding and treating rare diseases. It emphasized how clinical trials not only contribute to scientific knowledge but also have a profound impact on patients' lives and treatment options.

"Decentralized Clinical Studies, Post-Pandemic Clinical Research Ecosystem": This important topic was introduced by Dr. Cristina Florescu Moraid. In the wake of the global pandemic, decentralized clinical studies have gained prominence. This presentation discussed the evolution of the clinical research ecosystem in response to the pandemic, highlighting the benefits and challenges of decentralized approaches in conducting clinical trials.

"Rare Diseases - Challenges in Clinical Studies": This presentation by Dr. Andreea Cristina Dumitru delved into the unique challenges that rare diseases pose in the context of clinical studies. It addressed issues such as patient recruitment, regulatory considerations, and the importance of patient advocacy in overcoming these challenges.

The webinar provided a dynamic platform for engaging discussions among participants, including representatives from ACCSCR, the Romanian Prader Willi Association, and various stakeholders from the rare disease, academic and clinical research communities. The interactive nature of the event fostered meaningful exchanges of ideas, experiences, and perspectives. Participants had the opportunity to engage with the speakers and panelists, further enriching the dialogue and promoting knowledge sharing.

ACCSCR's involvement in the webinar showcased the organization's dedication to collaborating with patient associations, advocacy groups, and stakeholders to address critical issues in clinical research. By participating in events like these, ACCSCR underscores its commitment to advancing research, improving patient outcomes, and fostering an inclusive clinical research environment.

As ACCSCR reflects on its participation in the 'Rare Diseases and Access to Clinical Trials' webinar, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to drive positive change and innovation within the clinical research landscape.
