Partnership between the local Agencies, academia, pharma and clinical trials industry, for the development of clinical trials in Romania

ACASA · NOUTATI · PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE LOCAL AGENCIES, ACADEMIA, PHARMA AND CLINICAL TRIALS INDUSTRY, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CLINICAL TRIALS IN ROMANIA

Bucharest, Romania - April 10, 2023 - Six leading institutions involved in the field of clinical trials have announced a strategic partnership to drive the development of clinical trials in Romania. The partnership agreement was signed on April 4, 2023, by representatives of the six institutions, including:

  • National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices from Romania (ANMDMR),
  • National Commission for Bioethics of Medicines and Medical Devices (CNBMDM),
  • "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Bucharest,
  • Romanian CROs Association (ACCSCR),
  • Romanian Association of International Medicines Manufacturers (ARPIM),
  • Local American Working Group (LAWG) Association

The partnership aims to promote innovation in the field of clinical trials, improve patient access to new treatments, and strengthen the competitiveness of the Romanian life sciences industry. The partners will work together to enhance collaboration among academia, industry, and regulatory authorities to foster a favorable environment for clinical research in Romania.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the President of ACCSCR (Romanian CROs Association), Mr. George Tanaseanu, stated: "This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of clinical trials in Romania. By working together, we can drive innovation, enhance patient access to new treatments, and strengthen the competitiveness of our life sciences industry. We look forward to working with our partners to create a vibrant clinical trials ecosystem in Romania."

The strategic cooperation represents a significant step forward for clinical research in Romania and sets a positive example for the global life sciences industry. With a shared commitment to innovation and patient-centered care, the six institutions involved are poised to make a significant contribution to the field of clinical trials in the years ahead.
