International Clinical Trials Day Celebration Strengthens Collaborative Efforts in Bucharest, Romania

Bucharest, Romania - May 19, 2023 - On International Clinical Trials Day, a momentous event took place in Bucharest, Romania, bringing together key stakeholders from the pharmaceutical and contract research organization (CRO) industry, government authorities, patient advocacy groups, clinical trials specialists, and more. This event, held on May 19th, marked an important step forward in strengthening relationships and fostering collaboration among various entities involved in clinical trials within the country.

The central focus of the gathering was to facilitate dialogue and cooperation between Romanian authorities and representatives from the pharmaceutical and CRO industries, investigators, patient advocacy groups, and clinical trials experts. By fostering a supportive environment for exchange and discussion, the event aimed to catalyze advancements in the field of clinical research and ultimately improve clinical trials outcomes.

A pivotal highlight of the event was the announcement of a groundbreaking partnership recently formed between esteemed organizations integral to the clinical trials landscape in Romania. This strategic alliance involves prominent entities such as the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (NAMMDR), the National Bioethics Committee of Medicines and Medical Devices, Romania (NBCMMDR), the Romanian Association of International Medicine Manufacturers (ARPIM), the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” Bucharest, the Romanian Association of Contract Research Organizations (ACCSCR), and the Local American Working Group (LAWG).

Representatives from these entities came together to unveil their commitment to collaboration and innovation. Opening the meeting, the President of ACCSCR (Romanian CROs Association), Mr. George Tanaseanu, stated: “This partnership holds the promise of propelling the nation to the forefront of clinical research and bolstering its reputation as a hub of excellence in medical science and innovation.”

Through informative presentations, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, participants gained insights into the vital role that each organization plays in driving the expansion of clinical research in the country.
